About Raina

Raina Hawthorne is a Registered Physiotherapist, wife, and mother to two young girls. She blends her knowledge and training as a Physiotherapist with her experiences as a mother to provide her patients with care that considers and respects their whole person. She encourages her patients to trust in themselves and be active in their own healing.

Raina completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with the University of Lethbridge, graduating with Honours. She went on to complete a Master of Science in Physical Therapy with the University of Alberta. Once practicing as a Physiotherapist, Raina completed further specialized training and is registered to practice as a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist. She has also completed training in physiotherapy assessment and treatment for breastfeeding related conditions. She uses her personal experiences and challenges from breastfeeding her own daughters to complement her formal training to help her patients reach their breastfeeding goals. She has also completed advanced training in addressing and chronic/persisting pain conditions and is passionate about helping guide patients through determining the various underlying factors that contribute to pain and other symptoms. She is certified to perform acupuncture and dry needling and can integrate these techniques into any physiotherapy treatment.

Raina loves spending time with her family, is a long-time yogi, and an avid runner. She is (slowly) working toward resuming triathlons after a break following the birth of her daughters. She loves getting to know her patients and is happy to answer any questions you may have!
